Overview

Located on 175 Market St in Potsdam, NY, Asian Buffet & Mongolian Grill offers a diverse array of Asian cuisine under one expansive roof. This restaurant blends the lively experience of a buffet with the interactive flair of a Mongolian grill, appealing to families, groups, and anyone craving variety.

The menu celebrates an extensive selection, from freshly made sushi rolls like California, Avocado, and the adventurous Crazy Dragon Roll, to hearty dishes such as Sweet and Sour Chicken, BBQ Pork Fried Potatoes, and Pan Fried Noodles with Seafood. The inclusion of a salad bar and an array of hot soups like Hot and Sour Soup provides balance and variety, inviting diners to customize their plates. Those seeking a refreshing finish or a unique beverage will appreciate the broad bubble tea offerings—ranging from Papaya to Japanese Green Tea flavors—and fruity slushes, adding a playful touch to the meal.

Space-wise, the restaurant boasts ample seating with thoughtful accommodations including handicap parking and clean, accessible restrooms, making it a convenient and comfortable choice for diverse groups. The atmosphere is inviting, with a practical layout suited to both casual lunches and larger social gatherings.

Feedback varies. Some patrons praise the array and freshness, noting standout dishes like the lo mein—recognized by many as notably good and hard to find elsewhere in the region. The presence of raw ingredients prepared on the spot adds to the appeal, ensuring an experience marked by freshness and customization.

However, others have encountered inconsistencies. Some buffet items reportedly suffer from dryness or overcooking, reflecting challenges inherent in maintaining quality throughout service hours. There are remarks on fluctuating quality and a general sense of decline for repeat customers, highlighting areas for improvement if the establishment wishes to maintain its place as a top local buffet choice.

Ultimately, Asian Buffet & Mongolian Grill presents a robust option for those seeking an extensive Asian buffet with the added excitement of a Mongolian grill component. It is well suited for families, casual diners, and anyone wanting to explore a broad palette of flavors in one setting, though potential visitors should be mindful of mixed reviews regarding food consistency. The combination of spaciousness, variety, and thoughtful amenities makes it worth a visit when in Potsdam.

The food was a mix. Some of the buffet items were delicious, while the others were just okay. Pretty nice ambience!

Very dull and very stale lately. Prices go up but the quality has gone downhill. Will not be wasting my time , also got sick from it every time I've eaten there so it's not good.

We were in town and wanted a late afternoon meal. Other restaurants were not open at that time. The buffet seemed like a good idea, and they were open. We were greeted and well-provided for by the staff. The buffet was full of many choices and well-stocked. However, much of the selections we chose were either dry or overly cooked. This can occur when the trays have been sitting out for too long. Despite this, we were able to select a few dishes that were okay. We remained disappointed in the end and look forward to trying other local restaurants when we are in the area again.
